Biometric Technology

The Anateo™ Solution: BBGR Biometric Technology™

Biometric technology provides the solution to the very different needs dictated by ocular anatomy. It is based on an exclusive double-sided conception combined with digital surfacing technology for which we have patents pending.

The principle is to calculate the perceived retinal image and, for each eye shape, to define the progressive lens which will produce this optimised image.

Digital surfacing technology makes the production of this double-sided personalised lens possible.

Using two complex surfaces allows the aberrations of the Anateo™ progressive lens to be reduced. This provides additional freedom to simultaneously optimise field of vision width and image focalisation on the retina.

Personalising Anateo™ lenses adds a new dimension to digital surfacing. The point by point optimisation of the lens, for each direction of gaze also incorporates wearers’ ocular anatomy in the path taken by the ray between the lens and the retina, through the variable centre of rotation.

This means that each lens provides an optimal solution adapted to the needs of long or short eyes.

Result: 1. Wider vision fields for long eyes
To maintain sharp peripheral vision, Anateo™ offers wider fields of view. Anateo™ adapts to a long eye by taking into account the farther position of the eye’s centre of rotation. Example: For a myope of -4.00D, Add +2.00, Anateo™ offers 12% wider fields of vision compared with a traditional progressive lens.

Result: 2. A softer surface for short eyes
To reduce the swim-effects, Anateo™ provides greater softness. Anateo™ is adapted to a short eye with a flat retina which is closer to the lens. Example: For a hyperope of +4.00D, Add +2.00, Anateo™ offers 17% greater softness compared with a traditional progressive lens.
